$7k turns your Cadillac CT5-V flagship into a supercar

The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is already a sporty sedan with its standard 677 PS (668 hp / 498 kW) and 894 Nm (659 lb-ft) of torque. However, a Magnuson supercharger kit can be used to extract an additional 91 PS (90 hp / 67 kW) and 103 Nm (76 lb-ft) of torque out of it without breaking the bank.

The TVS2650 supercharger kit has been around since 2019 (see video), so it’s nothing new. However, it had been primarily used in the LS7 engine lineup by General Motors, while the more modern LT4 V8 necessitated numerous modifications for it to fit. It has now been redesigned specifically for the CT5-V Blackwing, improving its power and torque curves throughout the RPM range.

Price is a big advantage of the kit. While the sedan itself starts from around $99,000, the Magnuson kit adds mere $7,195 to the total. Granted, installation and tuning cost extra, but they come with a warranty valid for 3 years or 58,000 kilometers (36,000 miles), whichever comes first. The company claims that the same kit could be used to lift the output much higher – to 1,000 horsepower if need be – but doing so would necessitate some expensive engine mods.
