Changan’s Nevo A06 liftback known domestically as the Qiyuan A06 is no longer fully electric: the new range-extender version enjoys 2,120 kilometers (1,317 miles) of range from a full tank and battery. It can already be ordered starting from 119,900 Yuan –slightly higher than the base EV version.
The all-electric Nevo A06 went on preorder in late September. Its hybrid counterpart is available now and costs 129,900 Yuan with all option boxes ticked. It features a 1.5-liter range-extender engine rated at 98 PS (97 hp / 72 kW) and a single electric motor driving the wheels with 163 PS (161 hp / 120 kW). A 28.39-kWh battery pack gives it 240 kilometers (149 miles) of all-electric range and replenishes its charge from 10 to 80% in 18 minutes.
Styling-wise, the EV and the EREV look pretty much identical. The latter is sized 4,885 x 1,916 x 1,496 mm (190.8 x 74.8 x 58.4 inches) large with a wheelbase of 2,922 mm (114.1 inches). It rides on fully independent suspension and takes advantage of modern LED lighting with 236 diodes at the front and 274 at the rear.
The trunk is good for 656 liters (23.17 cubic feet) of luggage, but expands to whopping 2,168 liters (76.56 cu.ft.) with all seats but the driver’s folded down. The EV still inches out an advantage here thanks to a 108-liter (3.81-cu.ft.) front trunk that the hybrid version does not have.
The base trim features a multimedia system that resides on two displays 10.17 and 15.6 inches large, extra-comfortable seats, 2.5 square meters of panoramic roof, 20 audio speakers and a 4.6-liter mini-fridge. The 129,900-Yuan top trim mentioned above additionally gets an ADAS package including a LiDAR and 26 other sensors.
