Chrysler, which is a part of Stellantis, is getting ready to switch its production from gas-powered to all-electric vehicles. Before it can happen, though, the company will be giving its fans the last chance to get a 300 model with a large-displacement four-cylinder engine under the hood.
The info comes from Mopar Insiders, which claims that Chrysler will be producing 2,300 sedans of the latest model year and offering them in two trim variants.
The first 1,450 Chrysler 300S units will allegedly ship with a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 under the hood tuned to 373 PS (368 hp / 274 kW) and 534 Nm (394 lb-ft) of torque. They will feature an eight-speed auto for the transmission and rear-wheel drive. The trim spec will include heated/ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, numerous driving assists and more.
The other 850 Chrysler 300S units will reportedly receive a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 for the engine, which will output 304 PS (300 hp / 298 kW) and 358 Nm (264 lb-ft) of torque. While the V8 version will be able to sprint from zero to 60 miles per hour (97 km/h) in 5.3 seconds, the V6 version will manage the same in 7.1 seconds.
The 2023 Chrysler 300 deliveries haven’t started yet. Mopar Insiders reports that the V6 variant will start from U.S. $43,750 and the V8 version will cost at least $50,975. The last year’s models equipped with comparable engines cost $42,350 and $45,350, respectively.
Last fall, Chrysler announced the coming of the final 300C edition (see video) packing the same 6.4-liter V8 as the Dodge Charger Scat Pack. That model started from $56,595 including delivery fees. All 2,000 cars for the USA and 200 for Canada were sold out within 12 hours of the announcement.
