Car Tuning
YouTuber and car aficionado Westen Champlin decided to have some fun with an old Dodge truck, transplanting the engine into the cargo bed and moving all the controls around just so that he could pretend to be driving backwards.
The chassis stayed stock, but both the cabin and the bed were removed from it and then installed backwards. The bed had to be cut in some places in order to accommodate the engine, but it came out alright in the end. Champlin had to move and realign the steering column, the brakes and all the pedals and swap the headlights with the taillights. Instead of doing the latter, though, he simply added the “correct” lights to the “incorrect” ones at both ends, ending up with a nifty truck that looks almost normal at a glance.
In the video here, the tuner goes out for a test drive and is soon stopped by local police officers who have no idea what is happening. Once they conclude that the backwards Dodge is street-legal, they let him go. And if you were wondering about the handling, Champlin claims he likes the “reversed” truck even better than he did the original.
