The jointly owned FAW-Volkswagen factory in China has assembled its 28-millionth car earlier this week.
It was a Volkswagen Magotan, a new sedan for the Chinese domestic market based on the EU-spec Passat.
The factory was one of the first joint enterprises founded by Western automakers in China, starting production in 1991. It is still in the lead by the volume of passenger cars produced in the country.
