Shortly after unveiling a trio of upcoming electric cars, Fisker Inc. has shed some light on the Alaska pickup truck.
The model runs on a modified version of the company’s Ocean platform, dubbed ‘FM31’. It supports two battery sizes – 75 and 113 kilowatt-hours. The former is enough for 370 km (230 miles) of range on a charge, while the latter can yield as much as 547 km (340 miles) before charging becomes a necessity. The automaker advertises the Alaska as the world’s lightest and eco-friendliest truck on the planet.
The cargo bed may look like much with its standard length of 4.5 feet (1.37 meters), but you can transform it into a much longer one. With the second seat row folded down, the rear cab wall removed (you can do that) and a special pull-out section extended from the tailgate, you can get as much as 9.2 feet (2.8 meters) of usable bed length.
In its most basic form, the Alaska comes equipped with a single electric motor and has 275 PS (271 hp / 202 kW) at its disposal. Paying a premium will get you a dual-motor version with a combined 550 PS (542 hp / 404 kW).
Prices are expected to start from U.S. $45,400, but the production will not begin until early 2025.
