Ford cedes Troller plant to Brazil

After failing to find a buyer for its Troller industrial complex in the city of Horizonte, Seara State, Brazil, Ford Motor Company has handed it over to the government.

The Troller factory shut down its assembly lines when Ford was withdrawing from the country three years ago. The carmaker had been trying to find a buyer for it ever since, but never did.

With the factory in the hands of the government, it may find a new owner soon, unofficial reports from Brazil claim. For one, the local company Comexport said it would be interested in buying it and launching the production of six new cars as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, the news isn’t good for the fans for the Troller car brand. All rights to the brand, including trademarks and production rights, still belong to Ford, which means we likely won’t be seeing new Trollers on the roads of South America any time soon.
