Ford Mustang Mach-E shipments delayed again

Some buyers will have to wait for their shiny new Ford Mustang Mach-E six weeks longer than planned as the company cites ongoing semiconductor shortage.

Everyone who was set to receive their SUVs between July 5 and October 1, 2021, should have received an e-mail notification by now confirming the delay, Ford says.

This is not the first time the Mach-E stalls underway to the market: Ford had to slow down the production considerably last month, citing the same reasons. The marque’s other cars have also been affected by the worldwide supply disruption, and sales have been much slower than usual lately.

To sweeten the pill, the company will be issuing gift certificates to everyone affected, granting them 250 free kilowatts of charging power in addition to the free monthly quota of the same size.

Ford remains committed to electrification and increases investment in the sector with each quarter, but a full-scale transition to battery vehicles remains planned for 2023, when the company will turn 120.
