Ford was unveiling the facelifted Territory crossover in the country when a stray cat made a surprise appearance.
According to the witnesses, the light brown cat apparently crawled under the wrap of the show car and fell asleep there. Presenters pulling the cover from the car exposed the confused animal, just sitting there and blinking. Needless to say, the fan-filmed short has scored more than 6,000,000 views within a day.
The Ford Territory for the Philippines market is essentially an export-oriented Equator Sport originally made for China. It went into its third generation three years ago, coming ahead of its Chinese donor that only followed its example last fall. Along with various design tweaks, the Philippines version ended up with a hybrid powertrain, officially becoming Ford’s first electrified vehicle in the country.
In its current guise, the Territory comes equipped with a 1.5-liter engine rated at 150 PS (148 hp / 110 kW) and 230 Nm (170 lb-ft). It also features an electric motor with 218 PS (215 hp / 160 kW) and the same torque as above, a special dual-range transmission and a 1.83-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Prices start from 1.4 million Pesos.
