Dongfeng launches another “prestigious” Forthing SUV

Preorders for the new Dongfeng Forthing Xinghai T5 are already running in China. The electric SUV is advertised as “prestigious” and seems to share most of its internals with the X5, despite looking more like the S7 liftback (see video).

The newcomer is 4.6 meters long, 1.86 meters wide and 1.68 meters tall with 2.73 m between the axles. It can be optioned with either 17- or 18-inch wheels and features LED lights as standard.

The interior is little different from that of the Forthing Xinghai X5. There is a digital dash display, a standalone infotainment screen, physical HVAC controls, and heated/ventilated seats. A handful of ADAS features is included as well, such as lane control and automatic emergency braking.

Powering the Forthing Xinghai T5 is a single e-motor at the front axle rated at 163 PS (161 hp / 120 kW). A 64.4-kWh battery pack yields around 530 kilometers (329 miles) of CLTC-rated range per charge.

Full pricing info is pending.
