The GAC Pickup 01 is packed to the trim with modern technology and is supposed to preview the company’s new design language, as well as its first take on a pickup truck.
There is little known about the concept, but it sure looks rugged and unlike most trucks on the market. GAC pitches it as an “ultra-modern means of transportation for any occasion.” It comes equipped with state-of-the-art driver assist technologies, digital steering and control, adaptive suspension, and a semi-autonomous driving package.
What remains unknown is whether the Pickup 01 will ever reach actual production. GAC had expressed a desire to become a truck manufacturer before, but starting with a model as bold and divisive as this one could be risky in a market starved for traditional cars.
