When Honda unveiled the new Civic Type R, it chose to keep us guessing about its exact performance numbers, saying only that it was more powerful than the old-gen CTR. Now, a user of the Civic XI forum posted a photo of what appears to be an ad brochure for Japan, which contains nearly all the specifics.
According to this pic, the latest-and-greatest Civic packs a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine rated at 330 PS (325 hp / 243 kW) and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft) of torque. This is barely more than the previous-gen Civic’s 320 PS (316 hp / 235 kW).
The brochure also mentions the new main gear ratio: 3.842, down from the old car’s 4.111. The body dimensions are as follows: length – 4,590 mm, width – 1,890 mm, height – 1,405 mm, wheelbase – 2,735 mm, weight – 1,430 kilograms.
Acceleration performance remains to be measured.
