6th-gen Honda CR-V breaks cover at last

Honda has taken it slow with the new CR-V, showing us its exterior this spring and following with a few cabin shots in early summer, but the SUV is here at last.

The sixth-generation CR-V is 90 mm longer and 10 mm wider than its predecessor with 40 mm of added wheelbase, which translates into more precious legroom for the passengers. On the outside, the radiator grille now resembles that of the new HR-V, the headlights are much slimmer, and the bumpers have been redesigned as well.

A peek inside reveals a Civic-inspired interior with a tiny 7-inch digital dash and a same-sized infotainment screen. You can opt for a larger 9-inch infotainment, but that’s as far as it will go, unfortunately. On the upside, the car supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay straight off the assembly line and comes preloaded with electronic assists aimed at improving safety.

In the United States, the new crossover will ship with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo rated at 193 PS (190 hp / 142 kW) or a hybrid powertrain with 207 PS (204 hp / 152 kW), which is reserved for higher trim levels.
