Soon after the preview of the fifth-generation Hyundai Santa Fe a few days ago, someone snapped photos of the CUV parked somewhere underground. Judging by the lack of a rear badge, the car was either a prototype or a base trim level – but that’s not important, because we are mainly concerned about some controversial design changes.
The car has a very generic-looking exhaust pipe that’s smaller than in the official photos. It also rides on bi-color wheels, lacks the model name on the tailgate, and is clad in black plastic all around – more so than the example that premiered earlier this week.
The new generation also appears larger than the previous one, but the specific dimensions haven’t been revealed yet. Hyundai only said that the wheelbase was extended and the cabin became roomier.
