Ineos Grenadier gets an open-top version for safari enjoyers

The Defender-inspired Ineos Grenadier SUV will be assembled in Botswana for the African market. The local branch of the company, Kavango, plans to supply local parks and ranches with a special edition called Game Viewer.

Buyers can choose from two available wheelbase lengths, both longer than that of the normal Grenadier with a fixed roof. Despite major structural changes, the company claims the Game Viewer remains every bit as capable and reliable as its closed counterpart.

The off-roader seats up to nine people and draws its power from a 3.0-liter inline-six engine sourced from BMW. The SUV comes in petrol and diesel variants to choose from, and it’s not clear yet which of these will be offered in Africa. What we do know is that Ineos plans to eventually sell the Game Viewer on other continents as well, targeting parks and nature reservations as the main buyers.
