A 39-year-old station wagon called Lynx Eventer is up for grabs in the UK now with the bidding at £38,750 and a few days on the clock. Lynx made 63 such three-door cars based on the Jaguar XJ-S, five of which were kept secret from the world.
This is the car number 11, and it is one out of those five vehicles that vanished from the public sight as soon as the production was completed. It has barely been driven over the past eight years.
Compared to their donors, the Lynx Eventer lineup adopted the Shooting Brake body style and offered a thoroughly redesigned interior with the second seat row pushed far back for extra legroom.
The car on sale has put 120 kilometers (75 miles) under its belt since 2014, meaning someone had been driving it at least a little bit. Still, just why its existence only became known last month remains unclear.
The restoration shop had to replace the fuel pump and the filters, as well as give the tank a good rinse. After these manipulations, the engine had no trouble at all rumbling back to life. The seller describes the wagon as ‘authentic’ and ‘nearly flawless’ for its age. Its body was given a polish, and the interior was vacuumed from any dust that may have accumulated over the years.
