America’s Most Wanted 4x4 has rolled out its latest creation: a Jeep Gladiator truck equipped with a thousand-horsepower crate engine by Mopar. The same upgrade is available for the latest Wrangler, too.
The kit is listed under the name ‘AMW 1000’ and is based around a Hellephant V8 with seven liters of displacement, aluminum block and headers, forged pistons and a mechanical supercharger. The resulting output amounts to 1,014 PS (1,000 hp / 747 kW), while the torque peaks at 1,288 Nm (950 lb-ft). The eight-speed automatic transmission is also new and reinforced to withstand the load.
As well, the upgrade kit includes a pair of heavy-duty ARB axles featuring pneumatic differential lockers, eight-piston brake calipers, upsized wheels and styling tweaks for the exterior and cabin.
Mopar sells its Hellephant crate engine for roughly $28,000 in the USA. The tuning company is offering a ready-made Wrangler AMW 1000 for a cool $269,995. It also offers a variety of less extreme engine swaps for those who don’t need as much power. For instance, a V8 Hellcat will get you 717 PS (707 hp / 527 kW) for $56,495. Paying $65,495 will net you the 850-PS (838-hp / 625-kW) engine of a Dodge Challenger SRT Demon.
