Chinese automaker Jetour introduced a truck concept called the Zongheng F700 a few months ago (see video). It has now been spotted on the public roads with some production-friendly modifications that some may say rob it of its original charm, AutoHome.cn reports.
For starters, the stylish thin vertical taillights have been replaced with dated-looking rectangular units. Likewise, the front fascia no longer looks like a single solid panel, ditching the show car’s stylish and unique appearance in favor of practicality. The rear doors are no longer back-hinged and have traditional handles. Last but not least, gone are the gill-like air vents behind the rear wheels.
Jetour has yet to reveal any technical information, but the model designation F700 suggests that the truck is based on the same platform as the G700 SUV. That one is 5,173 mm long, 2,050 mm wide and 1,950 mm tall with 2,850 mm between the axles. The ground clearance is adjustable within the range of 150–350 mm (5.8–13.6 inches).
We are going with the assumption that the F700 will ship with the same CDM-O parallel hybrid system as the SUV. It consists of a turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 211 PS (208 hp / 155 kW), a dual-range DHT case with a built-in electric motor adding 286 PS (282 hp / 210 kW), and another electric motor driving the rear axle with 408 PS (402 hp / 300 kW).
The Zongheng sub-brand was established in early 2025 as a more performance-focused alternative to Jetour. Once it reaches the showrooms, the F700 will compete against the Tank 700 and other premium off-roaders designed in China for the domestic market.
