The Posaidon RS 830+ Roadster will annihilate your hair at 224 miles per hour

Back when the car industry was still young, building excessively fast cabriolets was often frowned upon due to all the noise, the dust, and the wind damage to your hairdo. Looking at this 880-hp Mercedes-AMG GT R is a good reminder that those qualms no longer apply.

A while ago, German tuner Posaidon released a range of tuning options for the AMG GT R coupe, and here comes a similar upgrade for the roadster version. For those of you who forgot, the AMG GT R enjoys 585 PS (577 hp / 430 kW) and 700 Nm (522 lb-ft) of torque straight from the factory.

The list opens with a simple ECU tune to 670 PS (661 hp / 493 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. By the way, if you are looking for eye candy, look elsewhere – Posaidon believes Mercedes cars are perfect as they come.

Those willing to chase after even more power are offered a kit for 780 PS (769 hp / 574 kW) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) of torque. Included in the package are downpipes, air intake components, modified stock turbos, and transmission reinforcements. If you go for aftermarket turbos instead, you can unlock 830 PS (819 hp / 610 kW) and 950 Nm (701 lb-ft).

Finally, those of us who just won’t settle for less can grab the RS+ package, which promises all of 880 PS (868 hp / 647 kW) along with an electronically limited 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque. Bolstered like this, the roadster needs 2.9 seconds to zap from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) – 0.7 seconds faster than stock. Crazily enough, it can also hit 360 km/h (224 miles per hour) in a straight line – put on your helmet or say goodbye to your hairdo, the call is yours.
