Mansory’s G-Wagen Coupe tries a new look on to attract customers

The extravagant and over-the-top Mansory Gronos Coupe Evo C debuted in early 2023 with a promised global production run of just eight examples. It looks like the German tuner still hasn’t found enough buyers, though, because the G-Class seen here only shipped a few days ago.

Working with the five-door SUV, Mansory redesigned its entire bodywork to resemble a coupe. For one thing, they removed the rear doors and stretched the front ones, adding rear hinges to evoke associations with upscale vehicles from Rolls-Royce and others. While they may look cool, they require the front seats to be folded down and pushed forward before anyone can get into the back row, so that’s a downgrade in our eyes.

Still, most custom vehicles are built for looks, and this one is decidedly a head-turner with its flashy forged-carbon aero kit. It comprises a front bumper with  air intakes, a front splitter, a new radiator grille, a muscular hood, flared wheel arches, a roof spoiler and a rear diffuser. Rally-style wheels go surprisingly well with the matte-brown and black body finish, even if the rims themselves are glossy.

In turn, the interior is redone in white leather with black accents and assorted carbon décor. Mansory logos pop into view wherever you look, from running boards to the headliner.

Never one to leave good enough alone, the tuner also boosts the stock 4.0-liter V8 TT to 900 PS (888 hp / 662 kW). It sends the bulky off-roader from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in impressive 3.3 seconds.

We were unable to find a mention of how many Mansory Gronos Coupe Evo C remain available for ordering.
