Mansory’s still at it, folks. One of the controversial German tuner’s latest works is a Mercedes-AMG G 63 packing 720 horsepower and looking like the quintessential notion of bling distilled into a vehicle.
It’s probably worth mentioning here that Mansory has carried out quite a few projects over the years that involved actual fine-gold plating. Their recent Linea d’Oro and Linea d’Arabo are probably the best examples. In contrast, what you see here is a comparatively tame Mansory P720, a normal G-Class AMG coated with a gold-tinted paint. It also flaunts the company’s signature body kit made from high-end carbon fiber, golden rally-style wheels, and matching side pipes.
The interior is surprisingly humble in comparison, looking more beige than gold and thus actually classy to an extent. Granted, Mansory couldn’t resist reimagining it with a “starry sky” LED headliner a-la Rolls-Royce, illuminated door cards, and a start/stop button on a dedicated panel at the ceiling.
Other than that, it’s a P720 vehicle, which means the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 has been massaged to 720 PS (710 hp / 530 kW) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque. Tuned like this, the G-Class should have plenty of thrust to impress any bystander, which is probably what the owner was aiming for.
