The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren is a very special supercar: debuting in the distant 2000s, it was only produced in a limited run of 2,100 units, including the 722 Stirling Moss Edition. In turn, the latter spawned another spin-off the 722 GT – a pure track tool with a stripped cabin, no street license and a 21-unit production run.
Many of us considered the story of the exotic SLR told there and then, but MSO decided to reminisce about the past and launch a tuning program called SLR HDK. Owners of the standard Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren may now apply for it to have their car redesigned after the desirable image of the 722 GT racer.
Most of the modifications are purely visual and come in the form of body kit parts, but there are some technical mods as well. MSO tinkers around with handling and suspension and installs a different exhaust system for a new, juicier exhaust soundtrack.
Some will know to appreciate the fact that the interior retains its luxury and is not stripped in this version. Furthermore, McLaren offers an exclusive trim with this conversion.
As you have probably guessed by now, the upgrade is by no means cheap. To be specific, it comes in at $350,000, and you are supposed to source your own SLR.
