Marvel at this 700-PS, Honda-swapped Mini Cooper

What you see here is perhaps the craziest, yet the most beautifully done Mini Cooper swap that an enthusiast built using Honda’s K24 engine and CR-V AWD system. Be sure to watch the video, you don’t see builds like this every day!

The British compact accepted the 2.4-liter made-in-Japan four-pot rather well, so the owner decided to spice things up with some help from a 68mm turbocharger. When the power reached 700 PS (689 hp / 588 kW), he realized that it would be impractical to deliver it just one axle and endowed the Mini with an all-wheel-drive system transplanted from a Honda CR-V.

Having thus made a bloodthirsty monster out of a tame urban ride, the owner felt like testing the stock transmission for durability. Predictably enough, it blew very soon, to a phlegmatic comment of “It’s fine, I have a dog box at home.” The composure some people have!

Here’s hoping the repairs are proceeding well and we will soon see the next chapter in the life of what could be this world’s most badass Mini Cooper.
