G-Power packs 440 horses under the hood of the BMW M140i

Being capable of 340 hp (254 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb×ft) of torque, the stock 3.0-liter, six-cylinder engine of the BMW M140i isn’t all that bad. It’s just that it still falls behind the more powerful competition provided by the Mercedes-AMG A45 and the Audi RS3 Sportback. The manufacturer promises to address this in the next generation, but what should those of us who don’t want to wait do?

You’ve guessed it. Chip tuning is the way to go. G-Power has recently released a power kit that can boost the engine of the Bavarian hatchback to 440 hp (328 kW) and 590 Nm (435 lb×ft) of torque. This is done via a simple engine software upgrade. Once complete, the BMW M140i will rival the M3 and M4 in terms of performance.

The kit costs €1,848 to buy. Should you happen to be looking for a more affordable option, a boost to 400 hp (300 kW) is available for €1,616.
