Honda S2000 gets retrofitted with a twin-turbo V6

Let’s be honest: many cars could do with better, larger engines. Take this Honda S2000 roadster, for example. The car itself is great, but it comes powered with a feeble 2.0-liter inline four engine, which is limiting its potential.

Jason Schmuck, a car expert from The Hoonigans, went through the pain of replacing the stock Honda S2000 engine with a powerful V6 taken straight from an Acura TL Type-S sedan. He equipped it with a new intercooler, twin turbochargers, a new intake manifold, and a titanium exhaust system. He also reworked the entire cooling circuit. According to him, welding alone took around 100 hours of work.

As a result, the elderly Honda S2000 gained 500 horsepower (375 kW) under the hood – impressive, isn’t it?

Jason also dressed his vehicle in a stylish aero kit, replaced the brakes with more powerful ones, readjusted the suspension, replaced the seats and the steering wheel, and added a roll cage. He painted the car body Protonic Blue (a-la BMW i8) and cut out a window in the hood cover for everyone to see the new engine.
