Unique Lewis Hamilton-inspired art car to go on sale on November 24th

A unique art car featuring famous F1 racing driver Lewis Hamilton on the hood cover will be sold at the specialist Historics auction in Surrey, England, on November 24, 2018. It is expected to fetch between £20,000 and £25,000.

The car is essentially a right-hand-drive 2002 Mercedes-Benz CLK 500 equipped with a five-liter engine. The paintjob is a work of Paul Karslake, an airbrush artist and big fan of Lewis Hamilton.

He said he wanted to recreate the livery of Hamilton’s racecar with a few personal touches. He created most of the image using airbrush, then added fine detail by hand. Finally, he protected the entire image by six layers of lacquer.

Aside from the artwork, the Mercedes-Benz CLK 500 received a custom body kit, lowered suspension, a set of Cosmis Racing alloy wheels, an advanced exhaust system and ECU remap.
