Watch Polestar test its first hybrid supercar ever
Car maker Polestar has released test footage of the Polestar 1, the development mule of its first-ever hybrid coupe.
The testing took place at the Hällered Proving Ground. The company tried to assess the performance of the two-door vehicle as it accelerated up to 220 km/h (137 mph) on wet asphalt.
The data thus gained should help the developers improve steering and optimize the thrust vector control software.
Later on, Polestar plans to unveil the final prototype of the car, followed by a production-ready copy along with its specs. All we know so far is that the vehicle’s drivetrain will output approximately 600 hp (450 kW).
The assembly will take place in Chengdu, China. Sales may begin in mid-2019 or later, with prices starting at €155,000.
