Mercedes S500, Porsche Panamera take advantage of breakthrough Value 1 wheel design

This summer, German car wheel manufacturer FelgenCenter Mainz announced a unique wheel model called the Value 1. The allegedly innovative design made use of Protector plates. Let’s have a closer look at how this all works, shall we?

The Protector is a specially designed outer wheel cover that guards wheels against side impacts, such as when you accidentally hit a curb. It manages to absorb most of the impact force and may get damaged in the process, but you can easily replace the damaged parts without taking the wheel off or removing the tire. Really handy, isn’t it?

The photos below show the Mercedes-Benz S500 Cabrio (A217) and the Porsche Panamera GT both wearing the 22-inch version of the innovative wheels. Then again, the manufacturer claims the set is rather universal and supports installation on virtually every full-size sedan/SUV model.
