Production-ready Toyota Supra espied in the nude

A photo showing what looks like a mass-produced copy of Toyota Supra being transported to another location has recently surfaced on an automotive news website. The car had no test mule cladding on.

Based on the image, the sports car looks much like the FT-1 Concept introduced in 2014. There are still a few major differences, though. For instance, the actual Supra no longer has a tapering “rat nose” or a hood window, the side mirror design is different and there are new headlights. The front bumper has also been subtly restyled (look at the slits and the air intakes).

Apparently, the street-legal Supra comes with a double-bubble roof and individually painted A-pillars.

According to the manufacturer, the car takes advantage of the 6th-generation BMW Z4 chassis. The base trims are going to ship with entry-level B48D engines, while higher trims will come with a selection of B46D (four-cylinder) and B58C (six-cylinder) engines.

The sporty vehicle will celebrate its official premiere at the Detroit Motor Show in January 2019.
