Cadillac begins testing the next-gen Escalade

Spy photos featuring a test mule of the next-generation Cadillac Escalade SUV have recently surfaced online. The official premiere likely won’t happen until late 2019, so let’s have a closer look.

Based on the images provided, the new Escalade gets revised lighting, a new radiator grille and certain stylistic features borrowed from the concept car of the same name.

The manufacturer doesn’t provide any technical specifications at the moment. Rumor has it that the SUV family will be available with an upgraded 6.2-liter gasoline engine rated at 420+ hp (313+ kW). Higher trims will allegedly also come with a hybrid drivetrain and the 550-hp (410-hp) engine featured in the current CT6 V-Sport series.

Launch dates, pricing and availability remain unknown.
