New 2020 VW Golf caught in the nude next to a McDonald’s

German car giant Volkswagen AG has apparently finished testing its newest, 8th-generation Golf hatchback. An Instagram user spotted this virtually non-camouflaged car sitting next to a McDonald’s outlet.

The new VW Golf Mk8 mostly preserved its trademark design with a few minor new additions. The front fascia has become somewhat sportier in appearance, and there are now new bumpers, taillights, and radiator grille.

The car makes use of the latest MQB Evo platform and is 45 kilograms (100 pounds) lighter than its predecessor. Its wheel spacing has also become larger, essentially meaning more room for the rear passengers.

The interior of the updated vehicle features new upholstery and an improved infotainment system. Rumors also claim that the 2020 VW Golf series will be available with the optional semi-autonomous driving system.

The engine palette still mainly consists of old turbocharged three- and four-cylinder engines (diesel and gasoline). Later on, VW will be adding a 2.0-liter turbo V4 with 300 hp (224 kW) to the lineup, and a plug-in hybrid is said to be in the works as well.
