Chevrolet builds life-sized Silverado truck out of LEGO bricks

To celebrate the premiere of “The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part”, car manufacturer Chevrolet has ordered a 1:1 replica of its Silverado pickup truck. It took over 2,000 hours and over 334,000 parts for the LEGO Master Builders team consisting of 18 people to finish the project.

The replica painstakingly imitates the Silverado 1500 LT Trail Boss truck and is over six meters (almost twenty feet) long, around 2,438 mm (8 ft.) wide and 1,829 mm (6 ft.) tall.

The LEGO car also sports custom body graphics and even has functional lighting, but it lacks the engine and thus cannot move on its own. This reminds us of a LEGO Bugatti Chiron that debuted in the late summer of 2018. The hypercar replica featured an active rear wing, functional headlights and over 1,300 miniature LEGO motors that could actually move it about.
