Mercedes-Benz to unveil new all-electric MPV at Geneva show

German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz will be attending the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show with its fifth electrified vehicle belonging to the EQ family. The company says it is an MPV/minivan, but doesn’t provide any further specifics, including the model name.

Allegedly, the Geneva show car will still be a prototype and not a final production version, but the manufacturer assures us that it is almost finished. As for the sales start, we would expect it around 2022.

According to representatives of the marque, the all-electric MPV will offer a much better driving range than its predecessors. This must be referring to the Sprinter and Vito all-electric vans that can travel up to 150 kilometers (93 miles) before depleting their batteries.

The first environment-friendly Mercedes vehicle – an SUV called EQC – debuted at the Paris motor show last fall. The car came equipped with two electric motors, could accelerate 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in around five seconds and offered a range bordering on 450 km (280 mi).
