Porsche Taycan EV caught in the nude, at last

Everyone wants to know what the new Porsche Taycan looks like, right? Still, the battery-powered car has managed to elude sensation-hungry test mule hunters so far. That is, until now. As luck would have it, the photographer has managed to take images of three pre-production Taycans with different body types, including the Shooting Brake version called the Taycan Sport Turismo.

If these are any indication, the German vehicle will enter production with slide-out door handles, 911-style rear lights, a spacious trunk compartment and large brake discs with calipers to match.

The electric car will be able to replenish its batteries using a 800V charging station. Charging for only 15 minutes will enable it to make another 400 kilometers (250 miles). Once fully charged, it will offer around 500 km (310 mi) of uninterrupted driving.

From the technical point of view, the new Porsche Taycan will ship with a duo of electric motors rated at 600+ hp (450+ kW). Top trims will be able to sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in less than 3.5 seconds, the manufacturer claims.

Also important is the fact that the new Taycan will be able to travel at speeds up to 200 km/h (125 mph) almost indefinitely without overheating. Porsche says its sophisticated AWD system and balanced weight distribution will result in extremely smooth driving experience.
