New Ford SUV spotted near the Arctic Circle

In northern Scandinavia, in the immediate proximity of the perpetually frozen Arctic Circle, car spotters have inexplicably managed to trace out and photograph a test mule of Ford’s next SUV, allegedly called Puma and meant as a replacement for the EcoSport series.

The company will not reveal the car until September 2019, but it does provide a few helpful bits of information. For instance, it says the car will mainly compete with the Kia Stonic, Hyundai Kona, Renault Captur, Mazda CX-3 and other mini-SUVs in its market segment.

Production will take place in the town of Craiova, Romania, at the same factory that used to produce the European version of the EcoSport.

Sales will likely start next year.
