Luxury car manufacturer Aston Martin has a long history of bringing its newest and greatest cars to the film sets of James Bond movies. And if the media rumors are anything to go by, the two iconic brands will once again meet in the 25th movie about the 007. The name of the motion picture remains undecided, with “Shatterhand” suggested as a temporary name.
According to The Sun, the movie will feature an all-electric Aston Martin Rapide, a production car that will come out in a limited series of just 155 units in late 2019.
The Rapide is the British marque’s first full-fledged EV. It packs two electric motors jointly rated at 602 hp (450 kW) and 950 Nm (701 lbft) of torque, sourcing their power from a lithium-ion battery array rated at 65 kWh. The manufacturer claims the supercar can sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in under four seconds and eventually hit 250 km/h (155 mph). Its driving range is limited at 322 km (200 miles).
