Tuned Corvette Grand Sport curb-stomps the ZR1

Up until recently, if you felt like purchasing a new Chevrolet vehicle with 750+ horsepower under the hood, you had no options other than the Corvette ZR1. Luckily for us, famous Texas-based tuner Hennessey Performance just came out with a crazily powerful version of the Corvette Grand Sport.

The HPE1000 Grand Sport power kit includes a supersized centrifugal supercharger and an improved fuel system, among numerous other components. Once applied, it takes the 6.2-liter naturally aspirated engine of the car from its stock(-y) 460 hp / 343 kW to a stellar 1,008 hp / 752 kW along with 1,244 Nm (918 lbft) of torque. Impressive, to say the least!

The extreme Corvette Grand Sport by Hennessey only needs 2.5 seconds to sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph) and concludes the quarter-mile in 9.7s. The tuner proudly reports that its top speed amounts to 352 km/h (220 mph). There are supercars out there that come priced at one million U.S. dollars and above, yet still don’t offer that kind of acceleration performance, so make your own conclusions!
