Lamborghini Aventador SVJ once again owns the circuit

The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ continues setting new records competing in the “Production Sports Cars” category. Piloted by professional racing driver Christian Gebhardt, the Italian vehicle just scored another one of its victories on the Hockenheim Circuit, Germany, by finishing the lap in 1:47.3. Too bad this particular race was not official.

In the summer last year, the SVJ dethroned the Porsche 911 GT2 RS as the fastest-going production car on the North Loop of the Nürburgring Circuit. The driver managed to complete the entire lap in 6:44.97 – two seconds below the Porsche.

One decisive advantage the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ has before its competition is its unique aerodynamic package that reduces drag as much as possible and generates 40% more than the average amount of downforce. The company claims it is the aero kit that enables the car to sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.8 seconds and up to 350 km/h (217 mph).

The SVJ comes powered by a V-shaped, naturally aspirated twelve-cylinder engine coming close to 760 hp (567 kW) and 720 Nm (531 lbft) of torque.
