Latest G-Class gets turned into a discreet armored vehicle

Inkas Armored Vehicle Manufacturing, a Canadian enterprise that specializes in the production of armored vehicles, has released this 2019 Mercedes-AMG G63 armored to the CEN 1063 BR6 ballistic protection level. This essentially means it can withstand large-caliber rifle fire (think AK47) and even survive a simultaneous blast of two hand grenades straight under its bottom.

It really deserves a special mention that the car looks completely normal – stock, even – on the outside and thus attracts no unwanted attention. The manufacturer claims it is also hardly any more difficult to drive than the vanilla G-Wagen. The secret here is using state-of-the-art, lightweight padding materials.

The SUV comes powered by the same old 4.0-liter V8 TT rated at 577 hp (430 kW) and 850 Nm (627 lbft) of torque, partnered with a nine-speed automatic transmission and a 4Matic+ AWD system.

Inkas Armored Vehicle Manufacturing offers such extras as a fire extinguishing system, a siren, a comm station, emergency blinkers, reinforced tires, and heavy-duty brakes. It also processes detailed custom orders.

In its most basic implementation, the bulletproof SUV costs U.S. $295,000, but add enough options, and you will easily exceed $1,000,000.
