New BMW X5 M, X6 M leak in factory-made spy photos

Photos showing the next-generation BMW X5 M and X6 M without the slightest bit of test mule cladding have recently surfaced online, presumably leaked by a factory employee or someone else with the access to the assembly line. The images show the exterior and cabin design of the Competition spec version.

It looks like, in contrast to the standard production car, the M series features an aero kit with enormous air intakes in the front bumper, a rear diffuser, and a quad-pipe exhaust system.

In turn, the cabin offers ergonomic seats with enhanced lateral support and the trademark BMW M sports steering wheel.

According to unconfirmed sources, both cars will ship with an AWD system in base, powered by the same 4.4-liter twin-turbo engine rated at between 600 and 625 hp (447 – 466 kW), likely depending on the particular configuration chosen. The transmission is allegedly eight-speed automatic. Both are expected to need less than 4 seconds to sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph).

The current generation ships with a 575-hp (430-kW) strong V8 engine, enabling both cars to conclude the standard sprint in 4.2 seconds and max out at 280 km/h (174 mph).
