MINI Clubman goes through its first major update

Car manufacturer MINI has revealed the facelifted version of its Clubman hatchback now sporting revamped exterior alongside new tech. The second generation has been around since 2015.

Compared to its pre-facelift counterpart, the car sports brand-new taillights and a different radiator grille with horizontal fins and a chrome-coated frame. The standard trim now ships with large halogen headlamps, but you may opt for adaptive LEDs if you prefer those instead.

Customers may now choose from a couple new interior finishes and pick a multimedia system with an 8.8-inch touchscreen display.

Perhaps the most important technical upgrade comes in the form of sported-up suspension based on multi-mode adaptive shocks. The car now also rides 10 mm (0.4”) lower than before.

The engine palette still consists of three gasoline engines and three diesel ones. The former include a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder rated at 192 hp (143 kW) and two 1.5-liter three-cylinders capable of 98 hp (73 kW) and 136 kW (101 kW), respectively. The latter group is represented by a 1.5-liter unit with 115 hp (86 kW) and two 2.0-liter ones rated at 150 hp (112 kW) and 190 hp (142 kW), respectively.

Later on, MINI will unveil the performance version of the John Cooper Works.
