New Hyundai Venue debuts, turns out shorter than Creta

At two simultaneously held motor shows in India and the USA, Hyundai has finally premiered the Venue, its tiniest crossover SUV ever. The car turned out to be 230 millimeters (9 inches) shorter than the South Korean marque’s next smallest vehicle, the Creta.

The new Venue measured 4,036 mm (13.24 ft.) long, 1,770 mm (5.81 ft.) wide and 1,565 mm (5.13 ft.) tall with 2,520 mm (8.27 ft.) between the axles. It offers a healthy 530 liters (18.7 cubic feet) of trunk space with the rear seats up and 903 liters (31.9 cu.ft.) with the seats folded down.

As far as the looks, the SUV boasts an original radiator grille design with chrome inserts, two-tier headlights, and taillights that seem inspired by the Carlino Concept that debuted three years ago. Hyundai offers the vehicle with a selection of dual-tone paints where the roof sports a different color from the rest of the body.

The crossover comes front-driven by a 1.6-liter gas engine with undisclosed specs. You may order it with a six-speed manual transmission or a CVT.

Features include a rear view camera, a multimedia system with smartphone support, a blind spot monitor, lane control, frontal collision warning, and backup assist.

Sales in the USA begin in late 2019.
