Bugatti takes its Divo hypercar on a desert trip

Bugatti has posted photos of its new Divo hypercar on its social network pages. As it turns out, the vehicle currently goes through a series of endurance tests in a scorching desert, with temperatures revolving around the 40ºC (104ºF) mark.

Bugatti development engineer Julia Lemke supervises the tests as the performance coupe spends several hours every day cruising at 250 km/h (155 mph) along an asphalt highway in the midst of a desert.

The Bugatti Divo uses the Chiron platform, but sports a different front fascia, including larger air intakes and wider front spoiler. Reportedly, it also offers improved handling, optimized aerodynamic performance, and less weight at the cost of some noise insulation.

Powering the new hypercar is a 8.0-liter Bugatti W16 engine churning out 1,500 hp (1,119 kW). The vehicle bolts from zero to one hundred km/h (62 mph) in 2.4 seconds and hits its electronically-set limit at 380 km/h (236 mph).
