Next-gen Kia Sorento spotted in the Alps

South Korean auto giant Kia has come to the mountain range of Alps to test the next generation of its Sorento SUV. Car spotters have managed to photograph the vehicle from a variety of angles before posting the images online.

You may also see a BMW X5 on the shots, which the manufacturer might be comparing to its own Sorento in terms of acceleration performance and chassis settings.

Compared to its predecessor, the new SUV has an edgier body and slightly different dimensions. It will ship with a few diesel and gasoline engines to choose from, and most likely also a hybrid powertrain. It will also boast a wide range of safety-oriented features and electronic driver aids.

The premiere is scheduled for the next year. Once out on the market, the 2020 Sorento will mainly face competition from the Hyundai Santa Fe, Toyota Highlander, Ford Explorer, and Chevrolet Traverse.
