Alpina turns a 33-year-old BMW 3 Series Cabrio into a shining miracle

Looking at this convertible, you wouldn’t believe this is an E30 BMW 3 Series dating back all the way to 1986. Then again, Alpina is responsible for the complete restoration and modernization of the car, so there is little to be surprised about.

The renowned tuner company equipped the stock four-banger with a catalyst system and upgraded it to comply with the modern emission regulations. As a result, the power went ever so slightly down (204 hp / 152 kW from 210 hp / 156 kW), but the torque went up to 265 Nm (195 pound-feet). You may think this is a bit on the weak side, but the car doesn’t weigh too much at all, which means it accelerates about as fast as modern sports cars do and maxes out at a respectable 230 km/h (143 mph).

Other noteworthy features of this Alpina C2 2.7 include a brand-new removable top made completely out of glass, in-house designed wheels, lowered stance, and yellow headlights.
