New BMW Vision M Next Concept to debut in Munich soon

The so-called BMW Vision M Next, a new concept car based on the Vision iNext, will celebrate its premiere at a special event in Munich, Germany, is just a few days. The company emphasizes that, while the original iNext Concept was all about high tech options, such as its self-drive system, the newcomer shall bring about ‘a new era in driving pleasure.’ What this means for us is that the M performance version of the iNext is coming to the market in the near future.

Detailed specs of the all-electric SUV remain a mystery. In fact, a few paper mockups of the vehicle made by German sculptor and photo artist Thomas Demand is the only thing that enables us to draw at least some early conclusions about the vehicle. The company says the colors and shapes of these mockups do a great job describing the appearance of the concept car. In turn, Thomas says that ‘this is a very complex car. Its radical design cannot be described in the way we describe traditional cars.’

The X5 M and X6 M are the two strongest BMW M SUVs on the lineup right now. Both are rated at 575 hp (429 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb×ft) of torque and sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.2 seconds. Chances are good that the Vision M Next will be similar to them in terms of performance.
