This Chrysler PT ‘Bruiser’ Cruiser could be yours for as little as $4,800

An unusual Chrysler PT Cruiser conversion just popped up on an online marketplace for used cars, dubbed ‘Bruiser’ by its Richmond owner. The brutal off-roader comes with a U.S. $4,800 price tag.

The ad description says this particular PT Bruiser comes powered by a 5.6-liter Mopar V8 engine partnered with an automatic transmission, which in turns connects to a transfer case via a driveshaft. The resulting power output is unspecified, but should be similar to that of Chrysler’s Plymouth range from the 1970s (275 horsepower, or 205 kilowatts).

The feature list goes on to mention power steering, 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels, and enormous 44-inch mud tires.

The photos may actually provide you with a couple of clues on why this particular off-roader costs so little. The workmanship appears shoddy at best, and the underbody in particular looks botched. Then again, we haven’t had any first-hand experience with the car, so you are free to draw your own conclusions.
