Ford teases the new GT ahead of premiere

Mere hours ago, Ford revealed the first teaser pic of its upcoming update to the GT supercar model. We will be seeing the actual car very soon when the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed starts.

There is still no official data about the new vehicle, but certain features, like the roof scoop and the enormous rear wing, tend to indicate that it is either going to be a purebred racecar or an extreme road-legal version.

In spring, Ford announced the discontinuation of all in-house racing series where its GT racecars participated. As such, these vehicles will now only be able to stay in professional motorsports if other teams volunteer to keep using them.

The highlights of the upcoming update include a sophisticated aero kit, a 3.5-liter Ecoboost V6 engine, and a carbon monocoque. The manufacturer had originally intended to keep the production quantity to 1,000 cars, but decided to expand it to 1,350 after some additional research. The production will end in 2022.
