Latest-gen Mercedes A35 AMG gets H&R springs

There is a steady trend in the modern automobile world directed towards downsizing – and the Mercedes-AMG range is no exception. Car manufacturers tend to explain it through the need to abide by the increasingly strict environmental standards, but there is hardly any denying the fact that profit considerations are also involved.

It seems that H&R, a major supplier of aftermarket suspension parts, found the springs of the entry-level Mercedes A35 AMG (W177) inadequate for the model. Following weeks of development and testing, an aftermarket spring upgrade is now available for purchase.

Once installed, the H&R lowering kit brings the A35 AMG down 25 millimeters (1 inch) on the front axle and 15 mm (0.6”) on the rear axle. Aside from making it look cool, this has the effect of keeping the car perfectly stable when making sharp turns at higher speeds.

The springs are NOT compatible with the AMG Ride Control models and will set you back €319 for the entire set. H&R also suggests purchasing Trak+ wheel spacers for adjusting wheel positions within their respective arches. These should become available in several days.
