Cupra teases new concept car, avoids details

The recently established car marque Cupra has posted a teaser video of its upcoming new vehicle, taking care to leave us guessing what kind of vehicle this is.

The company had four premieres scheduled for 2019-2020, including the recently revealed Cupra Formentor, the new Cupra Leon and the ‘warm’ Leon ST. The fourth candidate was a mysterious ‘Special Model’; chances are good this is the car in the video.

Cupra’s firstborn was the gasoline/electric Formentor SUV rated at 245 hp (183 kW). The car relies on a DSG transmission to send the power to all four wheels and offers around 50 kilometers (31 miles) of range once fully charged.

There is also the Leon Cupra R ST, an all-wheel drive estate/wagon powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with 300 hp (224 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) at its disposal. Driving the wheels via a 7-speed DSG, it accelerates 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.9 seconds and maxes out at 250 km/h (155 mph).
